Minimalism, but make it homely: this home in Aschaffenburg is a prime example of reduced architecture, which has been given a warm, homely flair by using pur natur solid wood floorboards made of Douglas fir. The 300 width floorboards were laid in random lengths of 2-5 metres and thus spread seamlessly into the open living spaces. The white lye and white soaped Douglas floorboards have a particularly soft and gentle effect, with the natural grading showing in a lively and varied wood texture. The natural wood tone of the floorboards complements the cool tones of the exposed concrete and the white wall and built-in elements with a warm note, thus elegantly balancing the rooms between minimalism and cosiness. The result is soothing spaces, for every occasion.
